Rubin finds dwarf-planet candidate 2026 ED138 beyond Pluto; its size is still an estimate

Rubin Observatory's first dwarf-planet candidate, 2026 ED138, orbits beyond Pluto about 47 au out. Its 612 to 1,530 km size rests on an unmeasured albedo.

What it does not show Brightness alone cannot separate a small reflective body from a large dark one, so the 612 to 1,530 km diameter spans a factor of 2.5 and roundness is unconfirmed.
